Our campus constitutes an inspiring environment for everyone that studies and works here. We wish to co-operate with companies and organisations throughout the Umeå region and all over the world.
A postdoctoral researcher in theoretical physics
The Department of Physics has a staff of approximately 90 people. Among them are 12 professors, 28 lecturers, 10 technical/administrative staff, and about 40 PhD students and post docs. The department is involved in undergraduate and graduate education.
We are now looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work in the field of theoretical physics. This is a full-time position over a period of one+one year. The position is planned to be filled by early 2010.
The successful candidate will join our research in the field of cold atoms. Our interests include analytical and numerical studies of the dynamics of Bose-Einstein condensates and atomic Fermi superfluids, phase transitions in optical lattices, and quantum hydrodynamics. Specifically, examples of recent active research topics are rotating Bose-Einstein condensates, bosons in disordered potentials, coherence in low-dimensional systems, and the Mott transition in lattices of different geometries. For more information visit www.tp.umu.se/~lundh/Homepage.html.
To qualify for the position, you should have a PhD degree in Theoretical Physics or equivalent, preferably not more than 3 years old.
The application should include a description of past research accomplishments, copies of degree certificates, a Curriculum Vitae, and names of two references.
